Double reinforcement: Two renowned teams of attorneys for Aderhold

1. July 2025

We are continuing our growth trajectory and welcoming high-caliber new additions to our labor law, corporate, and M&A teams at our Düsseldorf office on July 1, 2025.

Labor law: Prof. Dr. Peter Christ and Prof. Dr. David Stoppelmann
With partners Peter Christ and David Stoppelmann, a well-coordinated team of experienced (senior) associates is moving from Pinsent Masons to Aderhold, with Johannes Altstadt joining us as a partner. They bring expertise in all aspects of individual and collective labor law, employee data protection, and labor law compliance. Their particular areas of focus are restructuring, negotiations with works councils, and internal investigations.

With the addition of this team, we are consistently sharpening our labor law profile—particularly with regard to current developments in the area of modern working realities and the associated legal challenges. The team will play a key role in the strategic development of the restructuring advisory practice.

Peter Christ emphasizes: "At Aderhold, we see an environment that focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises and offers consulting services of the highest standard, which fits in perfectly with our existing client structure, particularly in the energy industry and municipal enterprises. Aderhold's corporate culture, which is geared towards long-term cooperation and excellent service for clients, is in line with our standards. Here, we can fully develop our ideas on modern labor law consulting, digital efficiency, and strategic HR work."

Corporate and M&A: Dr. Carsten Kruchen, M.Jur. (Oxford)
At the same time, Carsten Kruchen, another excellent lawyer in the areas of corporate law/capital market law, foundation law, M&A, and compliance, is joining our team. Carsten Kruchen brings comprehensive expertise in providing legal support to companies and investors in restructuring and M&A projects. He also specializes in advising management and supervisory boards, supporting annual general meetings of listed companies, and representing clients in corporate law disputes. Carsten Kruchen's main areas of expertise are advising IT companies, insurance companies, and foundations. He will be working at both the Düsseldorf and Dortmund offices, thereby strengthening the already close cooperation between these Aderhold locations. At his former law firm MUTTER & KRUCHEN, of which he was a founding partner and namesake, he regularly advised listed and medium-sized companies, family businesses and their shareholders, and foundations on corporate and capital market law, M&A projects, and ESG aspects. Carsten Kruchen's move is accompanied by the hiring of a young associate to further expand the team.

The addition of both teams is a significant step in our strategic development. They complement our specialist areas perfectly and are also a cultural fit for our firm. Together, we will further strengthen our position in the market.

The lawyers had previously worked for many years in highly specialized units and are highly regarded in the industry. Their move to Aderhold demonstrates the attractiveness and strategic orientation of Aderhold.
